There is absolutely no question that the greatest part of my job is the people. While my position is creative and rewarding, it’s the people I meet and get to know that make this a phenomenal place to work. In heading up the new hire training sessions, I get the opportunity to meet every new member of our team and personally welcome them here to SMS Assist. It’s been an honor to introduce them to this company and to the people that make it great!
I started at SMS in October of 2012 as an Account Manager, running several accounts for the Interior maintenance department. As the company grew, Lauren Glandt spearheaded a new training program called SMS University to reinvest in our employees. In July of 2014, I joined Lauren as the second member of the newly established training department. I am now the Training Manager Team Lead, heading all new hire training and continued education for all SMS team members.
Working with Lauren Glandt to develop and launch SMS University has been one of the most gratifying pieces of my professional career. Building the program from the ground up and facing obstacles along the way was challenging, but ultimately we are so proud to have created a successful learning environment that empowers and enriches all team members.
It’s important for all prospective employees to understand the true potential of SMS. In my time with the company, we have tripled in size with no signs of stopping. We are becoming the undeniable leader of our industry and there is no better time to hop on board.
SMS Assist is an enormous collaboration. We have committed ourselves to quality and integrity, and we have worked hard to maintain an atmosphere that supports these values. We have built a culture that is welcoming, energetic, productive and fulfilling. People are brought into the SMS family because of their skills and knowledge, but we also look for the intangible traits that make them each unique. In short, we hire genuinely good people.
The opportunity at SMS is limitless. With the extraordinary growth that our company is experiencing, there’s no telling what opportunities are in store. There is huge potential to find your own niche and to grow within SMS.
